This short a/v presentation will discuss how sound is deployed in the context of conflict to create an ecology of fear. With reference to ongoing Israeli sonic terrorism we will interrogate the use of drones, booms, blasts and decoys as atmospheric interventions.

يناقش هذا العرض البصريّ/الصوتيّ القصير كيفيّة توظيف الصوت خلال الحروب بهدف بثّ الرعب في النفوس. وفي إطار الإرهاب الصوتيّ الإسرائيليّ المستمر، سنستكشف الطرق التي تُستخدم بها المسيّرات والانفجارات والقصف كتدخّلات جويّة.

Steve Goodman (aka Kode9) is a musician, artist and writer. He is founder of the record labels Hyperdub and Flatlines, producer of 5 albums and numerous mix compilations. His book Sonic Warfare was published on MIT Press in 2010, he co-edited the books Unsound:Undead (2019) and Sonic Faction (2024) both published by Urbanomic Press. His sound installations have appeared at Tate Modern and Barbican in London, among others. 

ستيف غودمان (المعروف أيضًا باسم Kode9) موسيقي وفنان وكاتب. مؤسس شركتيّ الإنتاج الموسيقي Hyperdub وFlatlines، ومنتجٌ لخمسة ألبومات والعديد من الميكسات الموسيقيّة. وقد نُشر كتابه المعنون «Sonic Warefare» في دار نشر معهد ماساتشوستس للتقانة MIT عام 2010، كما شارك في تحرير كتابين نُشر كلاهما بدار نشر أوربنوميك، وهما Unsound: Undead عام 2019 وSonic Faction عام 2024. وقد عُرضت أعماله الموسيقيّة في أماكن مثل تيت مودرن وباربيكان في لندن وغيرها.
