تتشرّف “مؤسسة متروبوليس” بافتتاح النشاطات البرمجية لـ”سينماتيك بيروت” (Cinematheque Beirut) بتحيةٍ إلى صانعة الأفلام اللبنانية رندة الشهّال صبّاغ، التي يمثّل عملها في آنٍ معًا شهادةً على فترةٍ زمنيةٍ معينة، ونظرةً حميمةً إلى بلدٍ تؤرّقه باستمرارٍ الانقساماتُ والاضطراب السياسي.

وتأتي هذه الاستعادة استكمالًا لأكثر من 20 استعادةٍ سبق لـ”متروبوليس” أن نظّمتها عبر الأعوام الماضية في سبيل الترويج للإنتاج السينمائي اللبناني والعربي والعالمي. وعلى مدى سبعة أيام، ستترافق هذه الاستعادة الكاملة لأعمال المخرجة مع تجهيزٍ بصري، وندوةٍ عن عمل المخرجة وإرثها، بالإضافة إلى معرض صورٍ من مواقع تصوير الأفلام خاصّتها.

ونودّ أن نتوجّه بالشكر إلى السفارة النرويجية في لبنان لدعمها الثمين لـ”سينماتيك بيروت”، ولـ”ليل بروداكشنز” (Leil Productions) لجعل هذا الحدث ممكنًا.

Metropolis Association is very honored to inaugurate Cinematheque Beirut’s programming activities with a tribute to the Lebanese filmmaker Randa Chahal Sabbag, whose work represents both the testimony of a specific period in time, as well as an intimate look at a country that is continuously rattled by divisions and political instability.

This retrospective comes in continuation of more than 20 retrospectives that Metropolis has been organizing over the years in its efforts to promote Lebanese, Arab and International movie production.

Over the course of seven days, this complete retrospective of the filmmakers’ work will be accompanied by a video installation, a round table on the filmmaker’s work and legacy as well as an exhibition of photographs from the film sets.

We would like to thank the Norwegian embassy in Lebanon for their precious support to Cinematheque Beirut, as well as Leil Productions for making this event possible.

L’Association Metropolis est honorée d’inaugurer la programmation de Cinematheque Beirut en rendant hommage à la cinéaste Libanaise Randa Chahal Sabbag. Son oeuvre. réel témoignage d’une époque, pose un regard intime sur un pays continuellement divisé par les instabilités politiques.

Cette rétrospective s’inscrit dans un esprit constant de programmation célébrant et valorisant la production cinématographique Libanaise, Arabe et Internationale, grâce à plus de vingt rétrospectives organisées par l’Association Metropolis depuis sa naissance en 2006.

Se déroulant sur sept jours, cette rétrospective complète des films de Randa Chahal Sabbag sera accompagnée d’une installation audio-visuelle, d’une table-ronde sur le travail et l’influence de la cinéaste, et d’une exposition de photographies de tournages.

L’Association Metropolis souhaite remercier l’Ambassade de Norvège au Liban, pour son soutien précieux dans le projet Cinematheque Beirut, ainsi que Leil Produtions qui a permis à cet évènement de voir le jour.
