The picaresque journey of a father and son, accompanied by a talking crow, along the roads of Italy during the economic boom and the New Prehistory. They encounter itinerant artists who swindle, engineers who own land, impoverished farmers, prosperous prostitutes, and Dante-inspired dentists. Pasolini recounts the crisis of Marxist ideology in a fairytale style and highlights the aggressiveness and lunar sweetness of Totò's mask. (Text by Roberto Chiesi)
