Before war reshaped Sudan's capital, five residents of Khartoum pursued their daily lives: Khadem Allah sells tea and coffee and raises her daughter Rita; Majdi races pigeons with his son; Jawad drifts between protest and spiritual reflection; Lukain and Wilson collect bottles from landfills, dreaming of new shirts. When fighting scattered them to East Africa, they rebuilt Khartoum, and their lives, drawing on memory and with solidarity.

قبل أن تعيد الحرب تشكيل عاصمة السودان، كان خمسة من سكانها يلاحقون تفاصيلهم اليومية: ”خادم الله“ و تزاول مهنتها في بيع القهوة والشاي وتقوم بتربية إبنتها الوحيدة ”ريتا“، ويمارس ”مجدي“ هوايته في سباقات الحمام مع ابنه، ويتنقّل ”جواد“ بين الاحتجاج والتأمل الروحي، بينما يجمع ”لوكين“ و ”ويلسون“ القوارير الفارغة من مكبات النفايات متأملين لشراء قميصين جديدين. وحين شتّت القتال الشخصيات وصنّاع الفلم ولجأوا إلى شرق أفريقيا، أعادوا بناء الخرطوم التي تركوها خلفهم وحياتهم بالكثير من القوة والتضامن.
