The Tous au cinéma ! program was launched in Lebanon in 2009. The program is a way for students from kindergarten to high school enrolled in French-speaking schools in Lebanon to discover on a big screen a tailor-made selection of films that runs through the history of cinema and its techniques. Each year, the program takes place over the course of two semesters and screens films in French in the case of French productions and in their original version with French subtitles in the case of non-French productions. Each film is accompanied by educational material that guides the teachers in presenting and discussing the films in class.
The screenings take place during school hours (in the morning) at the cinema Metropolis Empire Sofil in Beirut, the Cinema Montaigne in the French Institute of Lebanon and in the cinema Empire-Espace in Jounieh.

This project has been organized by the Metropolis Association in partnership with the French Institute and the Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE) and with the support of the National Center of Cinematography and the Moving Image (CNC).
Le programme Tous au cinéma ! existe au Liban depuis 2009. Inspiré de l’opération « Collège au cinéma » créé en France en 1989, Tous au cinéma ! propose aux élèves du cycle 1 à la Terminale de découvrir des œuvres cinématographiques lors de projections organisées spécialement à leur intention dans les salles de cinéma. L’inscription au dispositif engage chaque classe à découvrir les œuvres du programme sur deux semestres et à bénéficier d’un parcours diversifié dans l’histoire du cinéma et de ses techniques.
Les films sont projetés en français lorsqu’il s’agit de productions francophones et en version originale sous-titrée français lorsqu’il s’agit d’un film de production non française. Chaque film est accompagné d’un dossier pédagogique qui sert de support aux enseignants pour présenter les films et mener les discussions en classe.
Les projections des films ont lieu sur temps scolaire (en matinée) au cinéma Metropolis Empire Sofil à Beyrouth et au cinéma Montaigne de l'Institut Français du Liban, ainsi qu'au cinéma Empire-Espace à Jounieh.
La participation à l’opération Tous au cinéma ! repose sur le volontariat des chefs d’établissement et des enseignant(e)s qui souhaitent y faire participer leur(s) classe(s).
