My uncle Mounir, a man in his seventies, has spent the last two decades writing a book he believes will overthrow the global and capitalist systems. Despite his  surroundings’ skepticism and Lebanon’s political changes, he persists. Through his story and the tragedy of his brother’s death in the civil war, the book emerges as his way of resisting helplessness.

عمي منير رجل سبعيني أمضى آخر عقدين من عمره يكتب كتابا يعتقد أنّه سيسقط النظام العالمي والنظام الرأسمالي. يتمّسك باعتقاده في ظلّ استخفاف محيطه والتغيّرات السياسية في لبنان. أحاول أن أغوص في دوافع كتابته المستمرة. يشاركني عمي منير أسراره ومأساة استشهاد أخيه في الحرب الأهلية ، ليتّضح في النهاية أنّ الكتاب ليس إلّا طريقة لمقاومة شعوره بالعجز.
