In December 2025, the Lebanese Parliament approved a $257.8 million loan to solve a water crisis its previous $370 million loan never fixed. The source is polluted and climate-stressed. The to-do list looks familiar. The film asks the question the loan does not answer: where will the water come from?

في كانون الأول ٢٠٢٥، أقرّ مجلس النواب اللبناني قرضًا بقيمة ٢٥٧.٨ مليون دولار لمعالجة أزمة مياه لم ينجح قرض سابق بقيمة ٣٧٠ مليون دولار في حلّها. المصدر ملوّث ومتأثر بتغير المناخ، والخطة تبدو مألوفة. لكن الوثائقي يطرح السؤال الذي لا يجيب عنه القرض: من أين ستأتي المياه؟

Panel discussion following Capital of Thirst 

The screening will be followed by a discussion on Lebanon’s deepening water crisis, the impact of war on its already fragile water infrastructure, and the challenges of ensuring safe and reliable access to water. The panel will also explore questions of infrastructure, accountability and the future of the country’s water sector.
