They were orphans, martyrs children. With the rise of the Palestinian Revolution in the late sixties they became the Children of the Revolution. They lived and studied in an orphanage in Mount Lebanon in the town of “Souk el Gharb”. Few of them found salvation in the folk troupe founded by artist Abdallah Haddad in the early seventies. They became icons of the Revolution and toured the world in an era of global support for the Palestinian cause. They had their moment of fame before falling into oblivion. The orphanage building bearing the scars of war is still standing in Souk El Gharb. The hundreds of martyrs children, now adults, are dispersed in several countries. Fayez, Bachar, Hiyam, Arife, Houriye, Ghassan and Samiha, return to a place of memory where personal narratives of displacement, martyrdom, loss and deprivation, stir questions related to identity, sacrifice and homeland.

كانوا ايتاماً، كانوا أبناء شهداء. مع انطلاقة الثورة الفلسطينية في أواخر الستينيات أصبحوا أولاد الثورة. صبياناً وبناتاً عاشوا ودرسوا في مدرسة مختلطة للأيتام في جبل لبنان في بلدة سوق الغرب. بعضهم وجد خلاصه في الفرقة الفلكلورية التي أسسها الفنان عبدالله حداد في بداية السبعينيات. أصبحوا من ايقونات الثورة وسافروا حول العالم خلال حقبة شهدت تضامناً عالمياً مع القضية الفلسطينية. عاشوا لحظات شهرة قبل ان يقعوا في النسيان. مبنى المدرسة ما زال قائماً في سوق الغرب، يحمل آثار الحرب. مئات أولاد الشهداء الذين عاشوا فيه تفرقوا في انحاء العالم. فايز، بشار، هيام، عريفة، حورية، غسان وسميحة، يعودون الى مكان الذاكرة حيث سرديتهم عن التهجير، الاستشهاد، الخسارة والحرمان تثير تساؤلات حول الهوية، التضحية والوطن.
