The discussion will focus on the making of his latest work, "Night is Day," its production, its form/aesthetics, and its cinematic singularity among Salhab's Œuvre. The work is engaging with the political context in Lebanon and the region in the last five years till the ongoing Palestinian struggle against the Israeli Genocide in Gaza.

Ali Hussein AlAdawy

A curator of film and artistic research projects, a researcher, and a critic. He teaches and edits sometimes and writes at other times. He’s interested in Cinema, moving images, urban contemporary art-related practices, Global Critical theory, and modern and contemporary cultural history. He curated a number of film programs and seminars such as Labor Images (Ongoing since 2019), Serge Daney: A Homage and Retrospective (2017), and Harun Farocki: Dialectics of Images…Images that cover/uncover other images (2018). He also curated many exhibitions and public programs, for example, together with Paul Cata, the exhibition ”The Art of Getting Lost in Cities: Barcelona & Alexandria” (2017)and the seminar “Benjamin and the City”(2015). He was one of the founders of Tripod, an online magazine for film and moving images critique (2015-2017), and was part of the editorial team of TarAlbahr, an online platform and a publication for urban and art practices in Alexandria (2015-2018). He has also completed an MA in the intersections between human rights and contemporary art at Bard College, New York.

قيّم وباحث وناقد، يكتب أحيانا ويدرّس ويحرر في احيان اخرى. حيث يهتم بالأفلام والفيديو والمشروعات الفنية والبحثية بالإضافة إلى الممارسات الفنية المعاصرة الحضرية والتاريخ الثقافي الحديث والمعاصر. نظّم عدة معارض وبرامج عروض أفلام وبرامج عامة وندوات مثل "صور العمل - مشروع مستمر من ٢٠١٩" و«سيرج دانيه … تحية و استعادة» (٢٠١٧) و«هارون فاروقي: جدل الصور… عن الصور التى تكشف/تحجب صوراً أخرى» (٢٠١٨). نظم أيضا بالتعاون مع بول كاتا، مشروع «فن التوهان في المدن: برشلونة والإسكندرية» (٢٠١٧) والحلقة الدراسية "بنيامين والمدينة" (٢٠١٥) وهو أحد مؤسسي مجلة «ترايبود» الالكترونية لنقد الأفلام والصور المتحركة (٢٠١٥ – ٢٠١٧) وكان أحد محرري منصة «ترى البحر» الالكترونية والمطبوعة للممارسات الفنية والحضرية في الإسكندرية (٢٠١٥ – ٢٠١٨).كما حصل على درجة الماجستير من كلية بارد في نيويورك عام ٢٠٢٣ عن التقاطع بين سياسات وجماليات الفن المعاصر.
