On 26 October 1929, Palestinian women launched their women's movement in Jerusalem. 

Approximately 300 women converged into the city from all over Palestine. They held a silent demonstration through a car convoy across the city in protest at the British High Commissioner's bias against Arabs in the Buraq uprising. This is their story.

في 26 تشرين الأول/أكتوبر 1929، أطلقت النساء الفلسطينيات حركتهن النسوية في القدس.
تجمّعت نحو 300 امرأة في المدينة قادمات من مختلف أنحاء فلسطين. ونظّمن تظاهرة صامتة عبر موكب من السيارات جاب شوارع المدينة، احتجاجًا على انحياز المندوب السامي البريطاني ضد العرب في انتفاضة البراق. هذه قصتهن.

About Mahassen Nasser-Eldin

Jerusalem-born filmmaker and researcher Mahasen Nasser-Eldin tells stories of resistance and resilience, crafting carefully researched and scripted narratives that restore new life to forgotten figures and celebrate those on the margins of society. Mahasen’s research focuses on the re/use of audio and visual archives in the writing of displaced women’s historical narratives through film. Her films have screened locally and internationally. She holds a PhD in film. Her current project interprets and creates representations of Palestinian women pre-1948 Palestine through film in resonance with present feminist struggles for liberation.  

المخرجة والباحثة المقدسية محاسن ناصر الدين تروي قصص المقاومة والصمود من خلال سرديات مكتوبة بعناية تستند إلى أبحاث معمقة، حيث تعيد الحياة لشخصيات منسية وتحتفي بمن يقبعون على هامش المجتمع. يتركز بحث محاسن حول إعادة استخدام الأرشيفات الصوتية والمرئية في كتابة السرديات التاريخية للنساء عبر الأفلام. حصلت محاسن على درجة الدكتوراه في الدراسات السينمائية. يركز مشروعها الحالي على إعادة تمثيل المرأة الفلسطينية قبل عام 1948 من خلال السينما وذلك في انسجام مع النضالات النسوية الحالية من أجل التحرر.
